Job Description:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center invites applications for the full-time position as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor and in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. The successful candidate will be a surgeon-educator or surgeon-scientist with a well¬ established history of academic commitment and mentorship. The candidate will promote education and research collaborations across the institution and community, and enhance the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. With this position, there are great opportunities for innovative, educational, as well as translational or basic research at The University of Toledo

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care with the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, meeting the standard care expected of the Department of Surgery.
  • Participating in academic activities including teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows; research
  • Conducting clinical research trials and other assignments according to the needs of the Department

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Successful completion of a residency program or fellowship (if applicable)
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and academic productivity
  • Credentials and experience at the level of an Assistant or Associate Professor
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
