Job Description:

Administers, supervises and directs the administration of occupational therapy evaluations, therapeutic activity, construction of orthotics and instruction in their use upon referral from a physician and in conjunction with the physician establishes, supervises, and directs the appropriate treatment program of patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Must maintain current, active licensure from Ohio Board of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers.
• Maintains the Standards set by the American Occupational Therapy Association regarding treatment procedure and professional ethics.
• American Heart Association CPR required and must be maintained throughout employment in position. At time of hire only will accept American Red Cross CPR Certification.
• Passes annual safety test.
• Achieves competencies for assigned work area as dictated by director (i.e., age specific, suctioning, aseptic technique).

Communication and other skills:
• Good written and verbal communication skills to allow for functioning as a team member, assure adequate documentation for payors, and to ensure continuity of care.

Physical Requirements:

1) Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;
2) Ability to hear (with or without aides);
3) Ability to orally communicate;
4) Good manual dexterity;
5) Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally;
6) Ability to stand, walk frequently;
7) Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently;
8) Ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience or interest in hand therapy.
