Job Description:

The Associate Unified Communication Analyst is responsible for administering the universities unified communication systems on a day-to-day basis. This position maintains, and documents unified communication system components to support the campus and remote telecommunication needs. Under the guidance of senior team personnel and supervisors, the Associate Unified Communication Analyst works with customers, and other IT teams to support and implement various systems and solutions. This role also helps identify and implement operational enhancements to the telepresence environment that will enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and enhance the educational and care delivery mission of the university.

This position participates in small to medium projects under the direction of senior personnel staff members. This position performs follow-up activities to ensure that high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.

All members of the university unified communication team rotate on-call responsibilities to ensure high availability of the university’s systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study (i.e. Computer Science, Electronics, Information Systems, etc.). Other areas of study will be considered with relevant experience.
o Demonstrated technical experience or vendor certification in the administration of various communications systems including Cisco Unified Communications Systems, Microsoft Office 365 email, Cisco Unity voicemail, paging software and systems, Pinnacle telephony management software, Cisco Call Manager, and E911 applications.
o Basic knowledge of troubleshooting issues in an IP telephony environment.
o Basic understanding of the TCP/IP protocol including IP addressing and basic troubleshooting tools.
o Documenting skills with workflow diagrams utilizing tools such as MS Visio.
o Experience in coordinating and managing multiple high priority work orders and incidents on a day-to-day basis.
o Experience and independent judgment in executing and maintaining complex systems.
o Valid driver’s license.

Communication and other skills:
o Strong customer relationship building focus.
o Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and supervisory staff is essential.
o Punctuality, regular attendance, and dependability.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Working knowledge of Cisco video endpoint provisioning and functional usage.
o Billing and account management experience in an enterprise communications systems environment.
o Experience in an enterprise environment.
o Experience working in either a healthcare or academic environment.
o Experience constructing and maintaining project using a tool like MS Project.
