Job Description:

The Department Medicine, Division of Dermatology is seeking an Assistant Professor in Dermatology to provide quality patient care, participate in clinical activities, and engage in educational opportunities. The Division of Dermatology provides clinical services to the community of NW Ohio and SE Michigan by focusing on specialized diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for diseases and disorders of the skin, hair, and nails. An important aspect of the mission of the University of Toledo College of Mission and Life Sciences is educating students, residents and fellows as well as developing research programs related to dermatologic disorders. The Dermatologist will be given the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while collaborating with a supportive team of healthcare professionals and conducting educational/research projects to improve the practice of Dermatology.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and mentor current medical students, residents, and fellows in the discipline of dermatology.
  • Examine, evaluate, diagnose, and create treatment plans for complex dermatological diseases and disorders.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The faculty member must be an MD/DO who has successfully completed a residency in dermatology as well as a fellowship (if applicable).
  • The candidate must be Board Certified or become Board Certified within 3 years of recruitment.
  • He/she must meet all the institutional requirements for appointment to Assistant Professor.
  • Candidates shall have completed training in an ABIM certified Dermatology residency program, and be Board Certified or Eligible.
  • Unrestricted OH Medical License prior to start
  • Unrestricted DEA License
  • Eligibility as a certified provider in the Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health care programs
  • Insurability in the professional liability policy of the practice plan
