Job Description:

Responsible for managing and leading the department/area in a manner which promotes the University of Toledo Medical Center Mission, Vision and Values of Teamwork, Quality and Service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
​Current and active licensure as RN in state of Ohio.
​BSN required.
​Current BLS certification required.
​Three years’ experience working as a RN in an acute care setting.
​Three years nursing management or other leadership experience in an acute care setting.
​Advanced degree (Masters) from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Health Service (Public Health) Administration or related area preferred.
​Specialty certification preferred.
​Communication

1. Exhibits accuracy, integrity and flexibility; is punctual and dependable.

2. Possesses organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

3. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

4. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills; possesses group facilitation skills.

5. Must have demonstrated ability in conflict negotiation and ability to exercise diplomacy and tact in potentially volatile situations.

6. Must maintain a positive work attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with the following patient population; post-surgical, stroke, trauma, trach/vent, etc.
