Assistant Lecturer_Ceramics in Main Campus - Academic
The University of Toledo invites applications for an Assistant Lecturer of Ceramics to start August 19, 2025. Successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, introduction through advanced, in ceramics. Candidates with traditional or interdisciplinary practices are encouraged to apply. The ceramics area stresses safety and all possibilities of the ceramic medium. The position is an Assistant Lecturer of Ceramics position. Candidates must have taught all ceramic techniques including: hand building, wheel throwing, mold making, glaze making, 3D ceramic printing, and slip casting. They must also be familiar with firing techniques including reduction, oxidation, sawdust and raku firings. The Lecturer must maintain a clean, well-equipped studio and have experience with: kiln care, construction, repair and operation, kiln shelf/furniture care, and other machinery (3D clay printer, clay mixer, pug mill, spray booth, standing-kick and electric wheels), safe mineral and chemical stocking/supply, inventory, glaze chemistry and clay body formulation. Inclusive thinking, diverse viewpoints & multiple methods of content delivery is a must.
