The Department of Surgery invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in General Surgery-Surgical Oncology. The successful candidate will be board certified or board eligible in both General Surgery and Surgical Oncology by the American Board of Surgery and eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. We are in search of an experienced surgical oncologist who has a keen understanding of the latest techniques in diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, as well as newer techniques such as interventional radiology and immunotherapy. Above all, you should have a passion for meeting the needs of patients and their families during their cancer journey. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team at the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center to accurately assess patient needs and develop a treatment plan that meets those needs • Utilize and promote approved standards of care, procedures, methods, techniques, safety precautions, and study protocols • Participate in the development of clinical research, standard operating procedures, and study-specific procedures • Participate in the mentoring and training of medical students and residents • Opportunity for an elective general surgery/surgical oncology/HPB practice Skills and Qualifications • MD or MD/PhD with medical training specifically in surgical oncology and general surgery • Board certification or board eligible with state license in good standing • Ability to interpret clinical, genomic, and efficacy data Toledo is Ohio’s fourth largest city with a metro area population of 600,000. Assistant Professor, Department of General Surgery, Minimally Invasive/Bariatric Surgeon •The Department of Surgery at the University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, is seeking an Associate/Assistant Professor in the Division of General Surgery who is a Fellowship trained minimally Invasive/ Bariatric surgeon. This position will assist the department with patient care, clinical activities, and education. Responsibilities: • Laparoscopic, Minimally Invasive Surgical Options including da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery Gastric Bypass Surgery, Gastric Sleeve Surgery and, Revision Bariatric Surgery; • Provides office follow up of bariatric surgery patients; • Participates in community outreach activities regarding UTMC’s bariatric surgery services; • Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion; • Provides consultation on bariatric surgical issues; • Trauma/General Surgery call coverage; • Elective and acute care general surgeries; • Requirements: • Ohio Medical License and DEA; • Completion of general surgery residency; • Two years’ experience or fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery; • Board certified or board eligible in general surgery; • Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent;

Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Cardiology in Health Science Campus College
Work with the cardiology healthcare team to provide patients with cardiology medical care services within the standard of care for Cardiology Medicine patients. Round with the Cardiology team, including Advanced Practice Providers, Residents, Medical students and Fellows. Interpret Echo-cardiograph, Nuclear Stress and ECG. Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate and called for. Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions. Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up-to-date before prescribing medication/treatment. Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws. Record complete, timely and legible medical records. Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, , the College of Medicine, and the University. Conduct independent research in line with the goals of the Department of Medicine including maintaining a strong record of accomplishments and the ability to secure external funding that will provide salary support as Principal Investigator or Co- Principal Investigator and support research efforts and projects. Publish in peer-reviewed literature as first or co-author. Participate in service assignments of importance to the Department of Medicine the College of Medicine, and the University.
