Job Description:

The Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology within the Department of Medicine is actively recruiting an Allergist/Clinical Immunologist to join an academic faculty team that provides patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as opportunities for research. The physician hired will have a faculty appointment at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences with the appointment commensurate with the candidate's credentials.

Work with the Allergy & Clinical Immunology Division healthcare team to provide patients with medical care services within the standard of care.


This is an academic allergy/immunology position to provide a complete range of allergy services for adults and children as well as teaching medical students and residents.

Conditions we treat include environmental allergy, asthma, food allergy, drug allergy, allergic skin disorders, eosinophilic GI disorders and immunodeficiency disorders.

Procedures include allergy skin testing, food and drug challenges, allergen immunotherapy, biologic injections, and spirometry.
Teaching includes didactics and Grand Rounds as well as mentoring for medical students, residents and fellows at the University of Toledo Medical College.

We provide extensive opportunities for basic and clinical research.

Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options.

Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.

Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.

Record complete, timely and legible medical records.

Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University of Toledo.

Participate in research trials that align with the goals of the Department of Medicine.

Participate in service assignments of importance to the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University of Toledo.

Minimum Qualifications:

MD or equivalent required
Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency
Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Allergy/CI
Current license in the State of Ohio required, prior to beginning the position
Prior EPIC electronic health record system knowledge desirable
