The Security Officer 1 (SO1) works closely with the University of Toledo Police and Hospital Staff to provide a safe and secure environment for all patients, visitors, staff, faculty and students. The SO1 is cognizant of their surroundings, using situational awareness to identify criminal or unsafe conditions. The SO1 is responsible for administrative emergency communication throughout the Health Science Campus and liaison to the University of Toledo Police Department for emergency responses. The SO1 adheres to and administers all required Security Operating Procedures as well as University customer service iCare Standards at all times. Reporting to the Director, this position will assist in the daily operation and functioning of the office which resides in the Center for Advocacy and Student Experience (CASE) . This position will be responsible for assisting in the resolution of complaints of alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct, serving as an Administrative Hearing Officer, investigating student and student group/organization misconduct, and providing advocacy for students experiencing varying levels of crisis. This position will also be responsible for developing and executing office outreach and programming, collaborating with other areas across campus, assisting with the training of University Hearing Officers and Hearing Boards, and working with the Director to develop and advance a Conflict Resolution Program. This position will also be responsible for preparing materials for hearings, generating reports/data using the conduct database, and serving on University and Divisional committees.
