Posted Salary: Salary based on experience and education, range is $75,719 - $85,000

 

Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs & Dean of Students, the Director is a member of the Student Affairs senior leadership team with decision making, crisis management, strategic planning, and assessment, budget, and policy/procedure development responsibilities. The Director has primary responsibilities for managing and directing a comprehensive, student-centered, multicultural residential life program aimed at providing excellent customer service and overall student satisfaction.

The DRL&H (Director, Residence Life & Housing Services) is responsible for setting the vision and operational agenda for all programs in Housing & Residential Life and for maintaining an ongoing system of evaluation and assessment of an array of staff, programs, and activities. Administrative responsibilities include student retention, occupancy management, marketing, contract administration, facility management, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and student conduct. The ability to select, train, develop and evaluate staff while providing the leadership to implement best practices in residential life is a priority.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Completed Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, business or equivalent field.
• Eight years professional experience beyond the Master’s degree, including supervision of full-time housing/residence life staff.
• Five years of progressively increasing responsibility at the senior management level in residence life/housing administration.

Communication and other skills:
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Varied experiences in Student Affairs with an understanding of the inner workings of the Division.
• Excellent organizational, information technology and administrative skills.
• A commitment to working with students of diverse backgrounds.
