This position will assist with research experiments in Parkinsonian animal models to understand pathophysiological alterations in the brain in disease and health.
This position will report to the Senior Associate Dean of Research, Dr. Subramanian, and his team, to assist with research experiments in Parkinsonian animal models to understand pathophysiological alterations in the brain in disease and health. Techniques used will include advanced electrophysiology, cell transplantation, image analysis, signal processing, and advanced mathematical modeling. Direct day-to-day interaction with animals in a research setting will be required in addition to supervising trainees at all levels and technical staff. Close interaction with scientific colleagues in the laboratory setting is an essential feature of this job and will include physicians, physician-scientists, neuroscientists, medical students, and other graduate trainees. Experience with animal models of Parkinson's disease, awake recordings of electrophysiological signals from such models, and knowledge of optogenetics, and chemo genetics are highly desirable.
