The Department of Family Medicine has a complex organizational structure containing five divisions and includes five ambulatory clinics, one hospital service, and a geriatric nursing home practice. We have a base residency program with a fellowship program and various educational responsibilities throughout the medical school curriculum. This position functions well alongside the department Chair, able to maintain a high level of productivity within, and cohesiveness between, the units. The Assistant to the Chair is required to work collaboratively with the Chair, Vice Chairs, Department Administrator, Division Chiefs, and all faculty, staff, and students to positively impact the overall mission of the University by providing leadership and direction for certain long-term projects.

The primary responsibility of the Research Associate is to develop and conduct computational simulations to demonstrate the efficacy of a steady-state reaction device. This role requires expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermomechanical analysis, and reactive species modeling. The incumbent will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI to formulate and implement changes to the computational models and redesign the primary reactor to achieve the desired results. This position is funded by an awarded contract to The University of Toledo by the Office of Naval Research, “Effusion Cooling for Hypersonic Ground Testing.”
