The Contract and Compliance Review Specialist drafts and negotiates incoming and outgoing contracts and subcontracts for all sponsored projects from sponsors (external funding sources); monitors and documents sub-recipient risk and activity; and completes reporting as required (i.e., Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act “FFATA”). The Specialist will negotiate incoming new and renewal agreements and assess agreements to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding regulations and federal sponsor requirements. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring University compliance on subject matters such as export control, research security and cross training in financial conflict of interest and other sponsor requirements. The Specialist will communicate effectively with University personnel and administrative departments as well as external sponsors and organizations and will serve as a resource to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) and researchers on policy issues. The individual filling this position will be required to exercise discretion and independent decision-making skills and function as a departmental team member.
