Job Description:
Under general supervision of the Cardiology Clinic Manager, the Clinical Coordinator assists in the daily workflow and operations of the Cardiology division, including scheduling and clerical duties assigned. The Clinical Coordinator will perform a variety of clinical and clerical duties to assist with daily rounding to improve the provider efficiency. Responsible for assisting physicians and other clinical staff on follow up tasks relating to the inpatient rounding, ensuring that discharged patients have a resource to call and have received appropriate education regarding post hospitalization plan. Under the direction of the physician, they will assist with order entry and other duties ensuring an efficient and safe discharge with appropriate follow up.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical Assisting Diploma, Degree, or Certificate is required. May consider other medical certificates in a related field if combined with a CMA/RMA certification.
Current CMA/RMA certification.
American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR certification is required.
Must have 2 years of clinical experience.
Must have 12 mos. experience with data entry and verification, appointment scheduling, documentation, and be proficient with student health requirements as they pertain to student programs within UT.
Must have experience with VSLO program requirement forms and how to fill out forms appropriately for visiting rotations for students.
