Job Description:

This position will fulfill the duties of a statistician, designing, analyzing, and interpreting data for clinical research within the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. This includes the design, analysis, and interpretation of data through application of statistical methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, business, public health or related field is required; Master’s degree or PhD strongly preferred.
• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant quantitative experience in statistical analysis using SAS, R required; prefer experience with Stata, JMP, Minitab, SPSS, and GraphPad.
• Knowledge of applied statical methods is required, including generalized linear models, nonlinear modeling, repeated measures -longitudinal data- analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis, classification analysis and survival analysis.
• Working knowledge of healthcare terminology is necessary for this position.
• Must be able to analyze and provide written documentation about activities related to clinical data analysis, computing, interpreting and accurately summarizing statistical data, including the use of graphical methods and preparation of computer programs to facilitate data reporting and analysis is required
• Prefer experience or willingness to acquire/enhance knowledge of statistical methods frequently used in the analysis of clinical data, including receiver operating characteristics (ROC), propensity analysis, net reclassification index, methods for dealing with missing data, and descriptive/ inferential multivariate statistics.
• Must have the ability to support multiple assignments, shift priorities in accordance with need and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Evidence of ability to be self-directed, and goal oriented using sound judgement in the analysis is required.
