Job Description:
The Program Manager is responsible for managing the federally mandated Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process for all degree-seeking UToledo student populations. The SAP process requires a review of individual student academic records to determine aid eligibility. The Program Manager provides in-depth counseling to Health Science Campus (HSC) students in the areas of financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, cost of attendance, and debt management. On two days each work week, this position provides these advisory services on the HSC. The Program Manager maintains a comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies regarding financial aid to evaluate aid applications, aid packages, and student eligibility.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a financial aid office or related student service office required.
•Ellucian – Banner or other ERP experience required.
Communication and other skills:
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
•Self-motivated.
•Strong organization skills.
•Ability to handle large volumes of calls, emails, and face-to-face inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
•Demonstrated experience in managing challenging customer service environments and resolving difficult situations and complaints.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in customer relations and demonstrated ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
•Ability to work with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.
•Ability to exercise judgement, initiative, and work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and productivity.
•Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve issues. Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
