Job Description:

The Assistant Director, Law Admissions manages the daily coordination and delivery of marketing content and communications and supports all aspects of JD and law graduate-level admission operations. Responsibilities of this position include:

1. Responsible for the creation, strategizing, and implementation of a comprehensive College of Law admissions communication plan (CRM, text, direct mail, email campaigns) to meet established admissions and enrollment targets. This includes partnering with University Marketing department and external vendors to create electronic, social media, and print communications.
2. Read and evaluate application and academic credentials of law school applicants to assist the Assistant Dean in making admissions decisions, including evaluating professional competency, academic success and character and fitness.
3. Utilizes software and systems, including Unite, Axiom, CRM, and student information system (Ellucian BANNER) to support recruitment efforts. This includes data processing work supporting prospect and applicant communication flow and e-marketing functions including but not limited to, admissions and financial aid data, digital and printed communication flow, applications, and reports.
4. Manage prospective student communications and in-person or virtual meetings.
5. Deliver in-depth counseling with prospective students regarding selection of law school, differences among financial aid offers, and decisions about timing of enrollment.
6. Design and compile the comprehensive year-end class profile for each entering class. Utilize admissions data to prepare reports for the Assistant Dean, Dean, Faculty committees, American Bar Association, and other constituencies.
7. Assist with scheduling of incoming first year students.
8. Ensure compliance with the American Bar Association, University and College of Law admission policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations.
9. Direct Law Admissions staff that are assigned. This includes managing schedules (vacation and leaves), yearly evaluations, hiring, firing, & discipline.
10. Serves as a member of the Admissions team, assisting with data management, events, presentations, travel, materials.

This position has a direct impact to College of Law enrollment utilizing a recruiting communication strategy that supports the admissions goals for the college. This position receives direction from the Dean and Assistant Dean of Law Admissions. The Assistant Director, Law Admissions provides work direction to the Admissions Analyst, Admission Specialist, Student Recruiting Associate and student workers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer information systems, communications, marketing operations, or related field.
• One to three (1-3) years of related experience required.

Communication and other skills:
• Familiarity with operational database (Ellucian Banner, ACES2) and CRM systems.
• Familiarity with basic graphic design, HTML, Omni Update, Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines.
• Excellent oral, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with recruiting and marketing strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with a diverse and wide range of people.
• Exemplary professionalism in dealing with confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate degree or J.D. preferred.
