Job Description:

This position oversees & maintains the department's television production facility. The individual provides instructional assistance & support consistent with the Department of Communication and Media’s academic mission, and produces mediated material (video, audio, or other related material) in support of the University and its colleges & departments respective of their missions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in communication or related field is required (broadcast or electronic media preferred) with a minimum of four to five years work experience in broadcast or electronic media.
• Demonstrated understanding of newsroom authoring software and its integration into a TV studio production environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with broadcast television systems integration, installation, and operation in a live production environment, including, but not limited to, production switchers, character generators, video playback servers, studio cameras, audio consoles, nonlinear editing platforms, and local area network configuration & maintenance.

Communication and other skills:
• Effective interpersonal and group communication.
• Effective and proficient media creation (video/audio).
• Knowledgeable in convergent media creation.
• Knowledgeable of broadcast television hardware and software installation, maintenance, and operation.
• Knowledgeable of social media branding and brand management (as components of various Department of Communication and Media field and studio production courses).
• Demonstrated ability to instruct student workers on all of the above.
