Job Description:

The Department of Medicine is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Medicine specializing in Infectious Diseases (ID). This faculty member will provide exceptional direct patient care, contribute to the academic mission through teaching and mentorship, and participate in service aligned with the Department's goals. Opportunities for engaging in research are actively supported and encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in Infectious Diseases, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary ID healthcare team.
  • Participate in inpatient infectious diseases consultations at two clinical sites. Weekend and daily coverage are distributed among separate teams.
  • Conduct inpatient rounding with ID teams including advanced practice providers (APPs), residents, medical students, and fellows.
  • Provide outpatient consultations and follow-up care in the General Infectious Diseases clinic, both independently and while supervising ID fellows.
  • Engage in medical education by teaching medical students, residents, and ID fellows. Contributions to curriculum development at all learning levels are strongly encouraged.
  • Contribute to service activities within the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.
  • Participation in departmental and interdisciplinary research efforts, including clinical trials and scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship.
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in Infectious Diseases (ABIM).
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio (active license required at the time of employment).

  • Commitment to academic and clinical excellence in Infectious Diseases.
