Job Description:
Will manage anti-infective usage at The University of Toledo Medical Center in conjunction with the Department of Infectious Disease and Department of Pharmacy and perform other duties as assigned. The antibiotic stewardship pharmacist is responsible for coordinating daily anti-infective pharmacy services and ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services. The antibiotic stewardship pharmacist facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education/experience/licensing:
• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy
• Hold current and unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist License
• ACLS Certification
• Board certification Pharmacotherapy or Infectious Diseases required with-in 2 years of hire.
• PGY1 residency or equivalent institutional experience preferred
• PGY2 residency in Infectious Disease or equivalent institutional experience preferred
Communication and other skills:
• Must be self directed, motivated and capable of leading supportive personnel
• Should be able to work well with the public and other health professionals
• Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Utilizes effective communication to provide excellent customer services
• Demonstrates effective and culturally appropriate communications
