Job Description:

The University of Toledo-College of Nursing is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in teaching Psychiatric Mental Health and Psychopharmacology. We seek an individual that can provide instruction in Psychopharmacology in various medical education settings. The desired candidate will teach in a highly integrated, curriculum that incorporates active learning strategies in small and large group settings. We seek an outstanding team‐oriented educator who will share our excitement in contributing to this dynamic and innovative educational program. The Colleges recognize outstanding, innovative teaching and scholarship in this field of study.

The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of faculty to teach, as well as develop and disseminate scholarship in Nursing education and related fields.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicant must hold a doctoral degree; DNP or Ph.D. in nursing.
• Applicant must be an active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who
can take students for clinical precepting.
• Applicant must hold a current, unencumbered nursing license in Ohio, and hold a current
and valid certification as a PMHNP.
• Knowledge and/or interest in innovative pedagogical tools such as team-based learning
and/or small group format.
• Evidence of the ability or strong potential to provide effective teaching to Nursing students.
• Ability to work effectively in teams
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain detailed, accurate student records
• Ability to provide formative and timely feedback to Nursing students as needed
• Knowledge of assessment strategies related to Nursing education
• Ability to utilize peer and student feedback in enhancing curriculum as needed
• Proficiency with Online Learning Management Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience teaching in a Nursing school is preferred
• Current or previous advanced practice experience as PMHNP
