Job Description:

Bold Beginnings for Higher Education (BBHE) is a contract-funded project (by State of Ohio, Department of Education). The purpose of BBHE is to enhance the degree to which associate-degreed educators are ready, willing, and able to effectively support young children with diverse needs and abilities in early childhood programs. Expected outcomes include: (a) revised course syllabi that reflect the incorporation of Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP)-identified priorities and the Ohio Early Childhood Inclusion Credential, (b) evidence that cooperating teachers who participate in professional development have enhanced their early childhood setting, (c) enhanced Community College (CC) program practices that support the recruitment and retention of students from diverse backgrounds, (d) effective articulation agreements that allow CC students to transfer to a 4-year institution of higher education (IHE), and (e) consideration of developing bachelor degree early childhood programs at Ohio community colleges. The BBHE project manager works closely with the Project Primary Investigator (PI), Co-Investigators (Co-Is), and staff to direct and/or oversee the coordination and management of the budget, management of the project, business operations and week-to-week activities of the BBHE project.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An associate degree (preferably in business, accounting, or related organizational field), or experience working in a sponsored research office environment, university grants accounting office, or on a federally funded grant as a business/finance manager.
• Three or more years of experience working with budgets, especially collaborative projects or large federally funded grant projects,

Communication and other skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships,
• Excellent customer service skills,
• Strong analytical skills,
• Excellent organizational ability to multi-task skills to produce accurate, detail-oriented work while meeting deadlines,
• Experience supervising employees,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
• Proficiency with Microsoft computer programs/applications and demonstrated ability to use technology to manage large databases; Concur experience would be a plus.
