Responsibilities include:
• Assessing 4th-8th grade students to determine literacy strengths and challenges
• Planning and enacting literacy tutoring sessions based on students’ interests and needs
• Communicating with parents/caregivers and students’ classroom teachers
• Creating “FLY packs” – weekly take-home materials
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice
• Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills
• Collaborate effectively with parents and the program leadership team to increase student performance
Requirements and skills
• Successful completion of CI 3430 or 3440 or equivalent 3-credit hour phonics class and completion of CI 4470 (Literacy Assessment & Remediation) or equivalent (e.g., CI 6430)
• Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative with a sense of humor
• Ability to take supervision and correction constructively
• Ability to positively supervise students
• Capacity to continue tutoring during the academic year (after school hours) preferred
• Background check (will be paid for by the program)

The Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) Program at the University of Toledo is pleased to announce the opening for an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC). This position is a 12-month, Assistant/Associate clinical faculty tenure-track appointment.
The program offers a pre-professional, entry-level doctorate degree. It is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). It admits 20 students per cohort. Coursework is mostly taught in a face-to-face format.
We are seeking an enthusiastic faculty member to be responsible for the fieldwork program. Primary responsibilities are to plan, organize, and monitor the implementation of Level I and Level II fieldwork experiences, ensuring they comply with standards established by ACOTE and resonate with the OTD program’s curriculum design. The OTD program has excellent relationships with clinical sites, often receiving preferential placement for students. The AFWC teaches a course series in professional development that prepares students for Fieldwork. They also teach a course within their clinical expertise, advise students in individualized projects, engage in scholarship aligned with their interest, and coordinate admissions.
